Facebook data theft of 29 crore account

Facebook data theft of 29 crore account

Facebook has been in discussion for a long time about data theft. Now the social media giants have informed that about 29 million (2.9 crore) users data has been stolen after breaking a user's account. However, the company told that hackers did not steal the sensitivity data.

According to the company, hackers have stolen 15 million user names, contact details, phone numbers and mail id. Apart from this, 14 million users of the information that has been stolen, their username, gender, language, relationship status, release, hometown, current city, birth date, access to Facebook from which device, user's validation, work and Wherever they have been checked-in (visited), all the information has been stolen.

How this information can be misused

Using these information from any user, the hacker can dump mail on his behalf and cheat his friends for money. Or using them, they can contact Facebook's staff or any friends. It may be that by using them, they should prepare a fax mail that transmits the virus to the computer.

In the cyber attack on nearly five crore accounts in September last month, the hackers stole the access tokens of accounts, due to which many Facebook users themselves were logout themselves. Details of these affected accounts were sought. In response to this, the Vice President of Facebook has informed about the data theft of hackers.

Facebook said in a blog post that we are working with the FBI to investigate data theft and are helping them. Let us know that last month the issue of 50 million Facebook users' account security was revealed, after which the company had immediately withdrawn its' View As'.

Facebook believed that Hackers used to hack Facebook's feature 'View As' to hack a user's account. All users who were affected by it were asked to re-login their account once again. According to Facebook, the company has rectified the use of security measures and the information of all these incidents has been given to Head of Security.
